The core difference
GuestBook is a QR-code and browser concierge. You paste or upload your wedding details, and guests "scan a QR code or tap a link and ask right in their browser", with nothing to install. AskVino comes in two products, and the comparison table above covers the full Wedding Concierge. If what you actually want is the thing GuestBook does - guests asking questions and getting answers - the product to weigh is the Wedding Textline at $299 flat, with no guest limit. It answers in 20+ languages, day or night, on a real phone number.
It also includes two things GuestBook does not advertise: voice memories and a photo gallery. Guests leave a recorded message and drop their photos into the same thread, kept afterwards, with the voice notes pressable onto a vinyl record. Against a $10-a-month question-answering plan, that is a different kind of value rather than a cheaper version of the same one.

The QR code is the real trade-off
A QR code has to be somewhere a guest can find it at the moment they have a question - and that moment is usually in a taxi, at an airport, or at 11pm the night before. A card in the welcome bag is back at the hotel. A link in an old email is buried.
A text thread does not have that problem. Once a guest has messaged the number, it sits in their messages with everyone else they talk to, and it is still there on the day.
The flip side is honest: a QR code needs no phone number and no guest list. If you do not have your guests' mobile numbers, or you are running a large public-ish event, GuestBook's approach removes a real setup step.
Per-question pricing versus one payment
GuestBook's plans include a set number of questions - 1,000 on Solo, 2,000 on Basic - and charge 1c for each one after. For most weddings that is plenty. But the price is a subscription, and it moves with how much your guests actually use it, which is the one thing you cannot predict in advance.
AskVino is a single payment with unlimited questions. A chatty guest list costs you nothing extra.
Where GuestBook is the better pick
GuestBook is aimed at venues as well as couples, and at that scale its Pro plan covering 25 weddings for $99 a month is priced well. If you are a venue wanting one AI that answers parking, wifi and load-in questions across every event you host, that is a different job from ours and GuestBook is built for it.
It comes down to whether guests have to go and find it.
